Water-Borne Diseases Surge In Maharashtra; Diarrhoea Cases Cross 3.6 Lakh In 2025

Cases of water-borne diseases continue to affect thousands in Maharashtra, according to data from the Maharashtra Health Services Commissionerate. Diarrhoea cases rose to 3,68,787 in 2025, the highest in recent years. The state also reported thousands of typhoid and jaundice cases, while leptospirosis caused 21 deaths. Authorities have intensified sanitation and awareness drives.
