UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is against the death penalty imposed on Sheikh Hasina by a Bangladesh court, according to his Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric.
A Delhi Police officer said that Umar contacted one of the two men — a peon-cum-electrician at Al Falah University in Faridabad where Umar was employed as an assistant professor in the general medicine department — looking for a room about 10 days prior to the blast.
During the 2008 general election, Hasina pledged to try “war criminals” who collaborated with Pakistan during the 1971 Liberation War. After coming to power with two-thirds majority, Hasina established the ICT in 2009.
A total of 111 seats will be contested, with 56 of them reserved for women across all categories. The distribution includes seats for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and the General category, each with a proportional allocation for women.
The department, which functions under the General Administration Department (GAD) headed by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, will now oversee several key areas that were previously handled across seven different state government departments.
