Swarup Biswas Sent To Police Custody Till June 18 As Artists Allege Threats, Extortion

Swarup Biswas, brother of former TMC minister Aroop Biswas, was sent to police custody till June 18 after being arrested in Kolkata on charges including extortion, assault and firearms-related offences. Following his arrest, artists and technicians from the Bengali entertainment industry alleged threats, intimidation and abuse of influence, while actor Jeetu Kamal also voiced criticism.
