CDC Director Susan Monarez is refusing to step down after the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced her removal. Her attorneys, Mark Zaid and Abbe Lowell, said she has “neither resigned nor yet been fired” and accused HHS Secretary Kennedy Jr. of politicising public health.
