Research indicates that walking immediately following meals can help to manage blood sugar, minimize fat storage, and aid weight management. Early studies, including a 2011 International Journal of General Medicine report, discovered volunteers lost 3–6 pounds after walking 30–60 minutes just after lunch and dinner. Later research indicates that post-meal activity is more efficient than delayed exercise at reducing postprandial glucose levels.
