Mumbai’s First Waste-To-Energy Plant In Bandra Set For Revival After Turning Defunct Last Year

The BMC plans to revive Mumbai’s first waste-to-energy plant at Pali Hill in Bandra, which has been defunct for nearly a year. Set up by the PHRA in 2018, the plant processed organic waste from 79 buildings and 23 bungalows, generating power for 69 street lights. Officials are exploring CSR funding and a new operator under Solid Waste Management guidelines.
