Researchers from King's College London and Trinity College Dublin have developed a new aluminium compound called cyclotrialumane that could potentially replace expensive rare metals like platinum and palladium in industrial catalysts. According to reports published in Nature Communications, the breakthrough could lead to cheaper, cleaner and more sustainable manufacturing processes in the future.
