The Maharashtra government on Friday announced a ban on the sale of energy drinks like ‘Sting’ and other caffeine-rich or intoxicating substances within 500 metres of schools. Replying in the Assembly, FDA Minister Narhari Zirwal said strict action will be taken against violators under existing laws. The move aims to protect children’s health and safety.
