Madhya Pradesh: Tiger Census Kicks Off In Indore As All India Tiger Estimation 2026 Begins

The All India Tiger Estimation (AITE) 2026 began in Indore on Thursday, launching India’s largest wildlife survey. Fieldwork from December 18–24 will assess tiger numbers, prey density, and forest health using camera traps and scientific protocols. The exercise follows a sharp rise in tiger numbers in Madhya Pradesh and will feed into national conservation planning.
