IRDAI Slaps ₹1 Crore Penalty On Reliance General Insurance For Regulatory Lapses

IRDAI has fined Reliance General Insurance Rs 1 crore for violating regulations on insurance intermediaries, outsourcing, and corporate governance. The inspection revealed irregular payments to related parties, unlicensed entities, and misleading classification of expenses. The insurer must pay the penalty within 45 days, present the order to its board, and submit a compliance report.
