Iran boycotting World Cup draw citing visa restrictions for soccer officials

Iran will skip next weeks 2026 World Cup draw in Washington after the U.S. denied visas to members of its delegation, state media reported. An Iranian football federation spokesperson said the visa hurdles went beyond sports matters. The federation has contacted FIFA in hopes of resolving the issue.
