India Sees Surge In Medical Education: Number Of Colleges Increased From 387 To 819 In 11 Years

Union Health Minister Nadda said India’s medical colleges rose from 387 to 819 in 11 years, with undergraduate seats increasing from 51,000 to 1.29 lakh and postgraduate seats from 31,000 to 78,000. He highlighted declining maternal and child mortality, reduced TB incidence, and urged new doctors to serve with ethics, empathy, and innovation.
