IMD upgrades Mumbai to red alert, sees another spell of intense rain after mid

Bikram Singh, Deputy Director General at the India Meteorological Department (IMD), said Mumbai has recorded significantly higher rainfall than usual this monsoon. According to him, the city has received around 60% more rain than the long-period average between June 1 and now, highlighting a much wetter-than-normal start to the season.
