The Centre has appointed Vir Vikram Yadav as the new Director General of the DGCA, replacing Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, as part of a major bureaucratic reshuffle. Yadav, currently Additional Secretary in the environment ministry, will head the aviation regulator amid rising air traffic and safety focus. Kidwai has been moved to DoPT.
