Geothermal projects may get funding after assessment

The renewable energy ministry has said it may consider a national-level programme to provide financial support for geothermal projects once their technical and commercial feasibility is established. This comes after the release of the National Policy on Geothermal Energy (2025) aimed at promoting the use of earths internal heat for clean power generation and supporting Indias 2070 net zero target.
