Friend and not therapist, AI chatbots are validating toxic behaviour of users

A Science study found that agreeable AI chatbots often back users even when they describe deception, illegal acts or social wrongdoing. The researchers said such replies can weaken accountability, reduce willingness to apologise and deepen reliance on AI advice.
