Mumbai’s civic body has proposed a 22.14% rise in the 2026–27 Health Department budget to ₹7,456.80 crore. Plans include adding 4,556 hospital beds, expanding super-speciality services, installing 3-Tesla MRI machines, scaling PPP dialysis services, and preparing for India’s fully digital Census 2027 after a successful Mumbai pilot.
