Western Railway has introduced German nano-technology coating at Matunga Road station in Mumbai to tackle persistent gutkha and pan masala stains. The ₹5 lakh pilot project covers walls, pillars and metal surfaces across 3,700 sq ft. Officials said the coating reduces cleaning time from 30 minutes to five minutes and is expected to last up to five years.
