Banks’ asset quality has improved big time: FM Nirmala Sitharaman

FM Nirmala Sitharaman said India’s banks are stronger than ever, with gross NPAs at a multi-decade low of 2.3% and net NPAs at 0.5% as of March 2025. Well-capitalised scheduled commercial banks are set to drive credit growth, MSME funding, and infrastructure investment despite global headwinds.
