Notably, former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned from the top post on August 5 last year after large crowds of demonstrators surrounded her Dhaka residence. Her resignation was announced by Bangladesh's Chief of Army Staff General Waker-uz-Zaman.
